How can we help?
Find answers below, or reach out — we're happy to help.
Getting Started
Tap the "+" button on the Library screen and search for a book by title or author. You can also import your existing library from Goodreads using the import option in your profile settings.
Open any book in your library and tap "Start Reading Session." You can track time with the built-in timer, log your start and end pages, and add notes or voice memos during your session.
Go to the Goals tab and tap "New Goal." You can set goals by number of books, pages, or reading time — daily, weekly, or yearly. Your progress is tracked automatically as you log sessions.
Go to Profile → Import / Export → Import from Goodreads (or start from the welcome screens when you first set up). Parch walks you through it: it opens Goodreads in a secure browser window inside Parch (your password stays with Goodreads), you sign in and tap Export Library, then tap the download link, and your books move in with their covers. If you already have your goodreads_library_export.csv file, choose "I already have my Goodreads file" and pick it.
Yes. Your library, ratings, and reading history are yours to take with you, and you can export them from Settings at any time. We think any app that makes claims about privacy should be willing to let you leave with your data — including this one.
To Read, In Progress, Finished, On hold and Didn't finish, plus All Books and any collections you create. On hold matters more than people expect: most apps make you choose between pretending you're still reading a book and admitting you abandoned it, when the honest answer is usually neither.
Yes — add any tags you like to a book and filter your library by them. Other apps give you a fixed vocabulary of moods to choose from; we'd rather you invented your own, because "books that got me through 2025" is not a category anyone else was going to offer you.
Account & Sync
No. You can use Parch without creating an account — your library will be stored locally on your device. However, an account is required to enable Cloud Sync, which backs up your library and lets you access it across multiple devices.
Cloud Sync is free with a Parch account. It automatically backs up your entire library — books, reading sessions, notes, and goals — to our secure servers. Your data syncs across all devices logged in to your Parch account. If you get a new phone or reinstall the app, just sign in and everything will be restored.
Your library is stored locally on your device with no limit on book count. Your data is safe as long as it's on your device. To back it up and sync it across devices, create a free account; you don't need Premium for that.
Download Parch on your new device, open the app, and sign in with the same email and password you used when you created your account. If you have Cloud Sync enabled, your library will restore automatically.
Premium Subscription
Yes. Parch is free to download and use. The free tier gives you full access to core features — adding books, logging reading sessions, setting goals, and taking notes. A Premium subscription unlocks additional features for readers who want more.
Premium unlocks the full Parch experience. To see exactly what's currently included and the latest pricing, tap Upgrade in the app — this always reflects the most up-to-date plan details.
Open the app and go to Profile → Upgrade to Premium, or tap the upgrade prompt when you try to access a Premium feature. Choose your plan and complete the purchase through the App Store.
Go to Profile → Manage Subscription and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you originally purchased Premium.
Subscriptions are managed through your device's App Store, not through Parch directly. To cancel:
• iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Parch → Cancel Subscription
• Android: Open the Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → Parch → Cancel
You'll continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.
Your books and data are yours — they stay on your device after cancellation. You'll lose access to Premium features such as the reading guide, but your library remains intact and unlimited, and Cloud Sync keeps working as long as you're signed in to your free account.
Try the following:
• Go to Profile → Manage Subscription and tap "Restore Purchases"
• Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the purchase
• Close and reopen the app
• If the issue persists, email us at hello@readparch.com with your order confirmation and we'll get it sorted quickly
